S and R Festival Supermall

Pizza is my ultimate comfort food. I'm just glad that my favorite pizza place, S&R has opened a branch in Festival Supermall. No need to have a S&R Membership card for you to purchase. Hooray for that!

The combo flavor has always been my top choice. It's packed with meat and veggie toppings which makes this pizza flavor my instant favorite. I have tried cheese and pepperoni too but I'd still go with my first love. They also have bacon cheeseburger flavor that I'd like to try on my next visit.

S&R is also selling calzone, chicken, churros, french fries and salad. They are all tempting and sometimes I couldn't help but salivate. But I need to curb my food cravings. I gained a little weight and I really am having a hard time getting rid of the belly fats. So probably, my next visit to S&R would be on my Mom's birthday. That is two months from now. Teehee!

K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer

Dark circles under my eyes have been my problem ever since I started going to college. I took up a pre-medicine course which requires a lot of laboratory assignments and projects. I have had irregular sleeping patterns during those times and sleep was never part of my dictionary.

To cut to the chase, my dark circles got worse. I have had to apply heavy amounts of concealer under my eyes. It was slightly irritating and uncomfortable on my part.

I'm just glad that I've finally found the right brand of concealer for my panda eyes, K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer. It really pays to have an Instagram account 'cause you can find there almost anything and everything you've been looking for.

I have discovered K-Palette through a local celebrity that I've been stalking (not following) on Instagram. haha! She endorses almost all of K-Palette products. Her favorites are the Real Lasting Eyebrow (which I also have), Real Lasting Eyeliner and Zero Kuma Concealer.

I got sooo intrigued with the Zero Kuma Concealer 'cause everyone's been raving about it, including the local celebrity that I've been stalking. (I'm just pulling your leg). Haha! I bought shade # 2 'cause it was highly recommended by the SA in Beauty Bar. She's told me that it's the best shade for those who have fair skin.

Zero Kuma Concealer costs P795, a bit expensive from other concealer brands out there, but it's a holygrail makeup product that it's worth every penny. A little amount of this concealer goes a long, long way! It does help in concealing my serious dark underye problem and I have noticed a certain glow when I applied it on my face to cover some dark spots.

Plus, it really does stay on my oily face for hours with my favorite face powder. It does not cake unlike the concealers I have tried back in the day. I'd be posting a photo of myself wearing this amazing beauty product, hopefully on my next blog entry. Till next!

Market Basket Riverpark Festival Supermall

It was late Sunday afternoon when we went out for a family dinner. My mom who adores Pinoy food so much, chose Market Basket, which is located at the Riverpark in Festival Supermall Alabang. According to my research, Market Basket is owned by Hilario "Larry" Cortez of the Chef's Quarter Group. Would you believe  that this restaurant genius was a former security guard? He also owns Bossings, Chef Barrel, Kuse and Uncle Cheffy.

Not only that, the co-owner, Chef Mauro Arjona Jr. was a former dishwasher in a restaurant where Hilario Cortez also worked. Isn't it amazing? Their hardwork really paid off!  Anyway, Market Basket is like a modern dampa. If you are familiar with it or seafood paluto then you may already know what it is. But since my mom isn't the adventurous type, we just let the restaurant staff handle everything.

It was definitely a feast. We've had fried calamares, pork sisig, chopsuey, grilled tanigue and sinigang na salmon belly (not on the photo). Their pork sisig is one of the best I've ever tasted. I'm really not a pro in describing my gastronomic adventures but my Market Basket experience was truly splendid!

Tune Hotel Angeles Pampanga

Tune Hotel in Angeles City Pampanga is probably one of the best hotels I've ever been to. The front desk officer was very professional. All our queries were addressed in a timely manner. I love the hotel's lobby. You can just lounge on the sofa or use their computers for surfing the internet.

The front desk officer handed us our key card which, by the way, has many uses. You can't just use the lift if you don't have a key card. It is also used in opening the door of your hotel room.

Our hotel room was definitely a love at first sight. It may not be spacious just like the other hotel rooms I've been to but I didn't mind at all. I was in awe with the rooms's cleanliness and fresh smelling scent. These two are very important factors in passing my expectations and it actually did! Snuggling with my baby in our soft mattress and pillows absolutely was the best part after a long tiring day.

Pros:
Nice hotel lobby
Soft pillows and mattress
Fast Wi-fi internet connection
Professional front desk officers
Clean and fresh smelling rooms
Flat screen television with cable
Blowdryer (a must for me and baby)
Accessible to SM Clark, restaurants and other establishments

Cons:
Telephone is installed outside the room (near the elevator)

Address: Don Juico Avenue, Malabanias, Angeles City, Pampanga

Dinosaur's Island

Our tour to Clark Pampanga for the 19th Philippine International Hot Airballoon Festival also included a side trip to Dinosaur's Island. The entrance fee to Dinosaur's Island is sold for P20. Of course, you need to pay additional charges to see the other sights.

But since the door going to the park was literally open (As in walang nagbabantay sa entrance door compared sa jungle safari and 7D), we assumed it's free for everyone (Mahirap talagang maging assuming). Anyway, we explored the whole park and I suddenly recalled my favorite childhood movie "Jurassic Park." Humongous dinousaur replicas were all over the area. The sound of a real dinosaur was mimicked for a more realistic Jurrasic experience (In fairness natuwa naman ako)

When we were about to leave the premises, someone approached us asking for our entrance tickets. I told her no one's assigned in the entrance door when we got in so we assumed that it's free of charge. Her rude attitude really got me teed off. It's hard to keep my cool when I'm enraged (As in!). If we only knew that we've had to pay P350/ea for the entrance tickets, we certainly won't go. But I've had fun. Everything was A-OK except for that rude staff who made me downright mad.

19th Hot Air Balloon Festival Clark Pampanga

Another item checked off of my bucketlist: Attending the Philippines International Hot Air Balloon festival in Clark Pampanga. We checked in 1 day before the main event in a hotel just across SM Clark. The hotel (Tune Hotel) we stayed in was really nice and neat. The room size was pretty small but I didn't mind at all. I am 101% happy and satisfied with the neatness and fresh smelling scent of our hotel room. The a/c was a downside though but good thing there's a ceiling fan to help with the ventilation.

Baby brought some baon for our late lunch, a delicious Pinoy food (Bagoong with calamansi and sili and Daing na bangus), that I can eat every single day of my life. Haha!  We went out to take a short tour to Clark Airbase for some photo ops right after opening our Valentines gift for each other (Naks, haha!) Then for dinner, we've had steak with rice at Meats and Match. We came back to our hotel room around 9 in the evening, just in time for our favorite teleserye on ABS-CBN. Haha!

We slept kind of late but I managed to wake up around 2 in the morning. Actually, I woke up with an upset stomach. I thought I won't make it to the festival but the power of prayers helped me get through it. We freshened up a bit, put our clothes on then left. We stopped by at 7-11 for some cup noodles and coffee to keep us going. We arrived in the area (Air Force City) 3:30 A.M.

Tickets were sold for P300. I was supposed to buy the tickets online but my Paypal account doesn't have sufficient funds. Anyway, the organizers started to sell tickets around 4:15. I can barely remember the exact time the program has started but the first activity was the RC UFO Flying. Then it was followed by Skydiving Philippine Flag Jump and the Hare and Hound Hot Air Balloon flights. The Hare and Hound Hot Air Balloon flights was definitely my most favorite part of the program. If my memory serves me right, there were 36 participants (30 international hot air balloons and 6 local hot air balloons).

The red octopus from Japan was a love at first sight. The color's fun and eye-catching. Also, the face and shoe-shaped balloon (not on the photo). Unfortunately, the sunflower didn't make it. I don't know exactly what happened but I saw some black smoke coming from it. Glad to know, no one's hurt from the incident. Anyway, right after the Hare and Hound Hot Air Balloon flights, we headed to the aviation area where we saw some legit private planes ready for picture-taking purposes.

I was already feeling tired and sluggish due to lack of sleep so baby and I have decided to take a break and recharge ourselves with food and cold refreshments. We went home around 9:30 A.M so we could still have an hour to prepare for our next adventure. I really had a great time at the 19th Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark Pampanga. It warrants another visit from me next year!

Cafe Mary Grace

Baby and I are just mad about Italian cuisine especially pasta and pizza. It's the foremost reason why we have become frequent customers of Cafe Mary Grace in Alabang Town Center. There is so much to adore about this restaurant that's why we fell in love with it at the drop of a hat.

Cafe Mary Grace's ambiance is quite cozy. I sure do like the handwritten notes from the very pleased customers on top of the dining tables of Cafe Mary Grace. It's very entertaining to read those sweet messages saying how happy they were with the excellent food and service and other high praises for this restaurant.

... And I couldn't agree more... Cafe Mary Grace is definitely the best place to go to for nice ambiance and first-rate food and service. The Pasta Amatriciana with meatballs is my baby's favorite. She usually gets the meal which includes some salad and dessert.

'Cause I was kind of stuffed from all the food we've had that day, I just went for some sandwich (Chicken Inasal) with potato chips and dip (Wow, kunyare diet). It was surprisingly good! It may just look an ordinary sandwich but looks can be deceiving, right? My mouth was in euphoria after finishing everything on my pretty plate.

I shall try their famous food combo (ensaymada and tsokolate) on my next visit.

Filipino Streetfood

Filipino streetfood at its finest! My baby's 34th birthday was definitely a day full of adventures. Right after our short getaway to Poracay Resort in Porac-Pampanga, we went to Capampangan Island in the City of San Fernando for a simple birthday dinner celebration. I was tickled pink when I saw one table at the corner filled with Filipino or "Pinoy" streetfood. Isaw is my all-time favorite! I can finish 10 sticks of isaw in just one sitting. The other two tables were loaded with scrumptious Filipino viands, of course, cooked in Kapampangan way.

As you may already know, Pampanga is the culinary capital of the Philippines. They have the best cooks in the country! Their food is always festive and full of flavors. I'd like to have some of their famous exotic food on my next visit, kamaru (crickets) or betute tugak (stuffed frog).
