Sugar Free Treat Another

Sugar free treat another from the love of my life. She bought these just yesterday when we did some grocery shopping at Robinson's Pampanga. It's my first time to have the dark chocolate bar without any nuts on it. Usually, I get the ones with almonds or cashews since I really love nuts. But since my arthritis' been giving me a hard time these past few days, I'd just stick with my nut-less chocolate bar!

Maltitol

Today's Haul: Valor Sugar Free Dark Chocolate with Hazelnut. I got these 2 bars of sugar free dark chocolate for a price of 1 (buy one take one promo). It only costs PHP 214.00 at SM supermarket.

Valor Sugar Free Dark Chocolate with Hazelnut contains maltitol. According to some reliable sources that I've read online, maltitol is a sugar alcohol. It is normally used in sugar free products such as candy, chocolate and nutrition bars.

The taste has a resemblance with the regular sugar that's why many are using it in their products. Maltitol is a carbohydrate. It has 2 to 3 calories per gram. Since it's a carbohydrate, please expect it to have an impact to your blood glucose. And yes, some people who are consuming maltitol experience intestinal discomfort. So it's best to take it in moderation.

Healthy Options

Healthy Options is a one-stop shop for healthy and nutritious products. I really am not the health-conscious type but I know when to stop my unhealthy food cravings. I've recently purchased a sugar-free chocolate (Amberlyn Fine Belgian Chocolate) and some gluten-free snacks at Healthy Options. It's more expensive than the snacks you usually get at grocery stores but definitely it's healthier and guilt-free!

Sugar Free Chocolate

I have a sweet tooth. I'd always ask my dad to bring home some chocolates for me. I have gained so much weight after finishing all the chocolates he brought home for me. I stopped eating for a year so I could shed some pounds and it worked! Now, I am more conscious of what I eat. When I am craving for chocolates, I am always getting the Sugar Free ones. This Russell Stover Sugar Free chocolate is my newfound favorite. It is heavenly delicious as if like I am eating a regular chocolate.
