Holly's Coffee Branches in the Philippines

I'm a sucker for coffee. If you've read my prior blog entries, I've been talking about my Starbucks adventures with family, quite a lot actually. Anyway, I was able to try this new coffee shop called Holly's Coffee at SM Southmall last Saturday. The place was a bit crowded when I got in since it was a weekend. But surprisingly, the place maintained to be quiet unlike the other coffee shops I've been to. I felt at home right after I set my foot in. It's cozy and it's conducive for studying or reading your favorite novel-- I guess I just found my new sanctuary! I looked at their menu board and saw some drinks that you can't find anywhere else. But since I was a first timer, I went safe and just had strawberry smoothies while my aunt went for some macchiato. It really was good- no exaggerations! Every sip was divine! This place warrants another visit from me.

Nacho King

Cravings satisfied! I've been craving for Nachos these past few weeks and finally I was able to satisfy my cravings when I went out on a merienda date with my aunt last Saturday. It looks delish, right? It's from Nacho King. We got the biggie size for only 120 pesos and it includes 4 delicious toppings- Cheese, beef, mushrooms and salsa. The cheese alone is enough for a topping. They have nacho chips for take out too if you're planning to invite some friends over for a pajama party. I just wish they'd open a branch near my place.

Jamba Juice Alabang Town Center

Jamba Juice, anyone? I
Finally, I got to try this juice after 10890908 years. Better late than never, right? I've been wanting to have some of these ever since it penetrated the Philippine market. But I've always been stuck up with my old tradition which is going to Starbucks Coffee or some decent milk tea shops. It was only last week when I had the courage to give it a try. Baby was very supportive of me. She was actually the reason why I gave in. Anyway, we went to its Alabang Town Center branch and had some delicious smoothies and fresh juices. I can hardly remember the exact name of my juice but it had raspberries on it. It was a bit sour for my taste but given the fact that raspberries are good for the body, I have no reason to complain anymore. Baby had banana berry smoothie and it was okay too.

Health Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water

Lemons...I didn't know that drinking lemon water has many health benefits until I saw KC Concepcion's post about it. It boosts the immune system, flush out unwanted materials, relieves, respiratory problems and the list goes on. Lemons are quite expensive but I don't mind spending if it would improve my overall health. But I'm just too blessed that I always have my sponsor of fresh lemons straight from Baguio City. Thank you, love! From now on, I will be including warm lemon water in my morning rituals. I'm taking some Gynura leaves which are good for the body too.

Yakimix Branches

Yakimix is an eat-all-you can restaurant that offers Chinese, Korean and Japanese cuisine. I've been here for many times already and I won't get tired of going back for more. They have so much to offer and you'd really get confused with a wide variety of dishes that they have. Yakimix is open for lunch and dinner. The sushi bar is my most favorite part in the restaurant. Sushi and salmon sashimi never fail to tickle my tastebuds.

Samsung Duos Win

Got my new baby just yesterday! Thank you, Papa Jesus! I've already disposed my 1 year old Blackberry 9360 'cause it kept hanging every time. I was supposed to get the Samsung Duos 2 but the size was kind of small for me. You know, I'm more into tablet types that have ginormous screen displays. I really am enjoying my Samsung Duos Win so much. The size is just right for my grip. I love the fact that I can download some cool music and videos straight to my phone without any hassle. Kudos to Android phones! I'd like to get the Samsung Grand next time. It's way bigger and the camera's much better. But this phone's main camera is decent enough to take nice photos. I'm just kind of disappointed with the front camera though. Selfie pics mostly were grainy.

The Legal Wife

Filipinos just love watching teleseryes/telenovelas and I'm not shy to admit that I am one of them. Teehee! Mexican telenovelas became popular way back. I remember myself watching Marimar and Maria Mercedes every afternoon before taking my siesta. Then Asianovelas came right after. The Meteor Garden was a major hit. Every person I know was watching it even those people who find asianovelas "baduy." Lovers in Paris is another favorite. I rarely watch Pinoy TV shows these days as we've got cable television at home. But when The Legal Wife was aired on TV, I've made an exception this time. I actually have started watching it when Monica (Angel Locsin) caught Adrian (Jericho Rosales) cheating on her. The scene gets intense as days go by. One of my favorite scenes was the confrontation scene between Monica and Nicole (Maja Salvador). Last time, our cable connection was down for a few hours. Luckily, I've got a Pinoy TV application on my iPod Touch and I was able to watch The Legal wife without any trouble.

Alfalfa Sprouts

Eating pizza is one thing that I just can't resist. Obviously, I have got a big, big appetite and you can see that mostly on my prior blog entries. Anyhoo, this delicious-looking pizza is from Uncle Cheffy. I can hardly recall of its exact name but it's one of the store's best selling pizza flavors. Actually, nothing special about the taste but since I'm a heavy veggie lover, I really appreciated having this on my plate. It has lettuces, mushrooms and tomatoes. If my memory serves me right, it has alfalfa sprouts too. It was my first time to have some alfalfa sprouts in my entire life so I googled about it right after. According to Healthy Eating website, alfalfa sprouts contain certain vitamins and minerals such as calcium, vitamin K and vitamin C. Aside from that, alfalfa sprouts also help in reducing the risk of cancer and heart disease. In 1997, alfalfa sprouts have been link to E.Coli and Salmonella that may cause nausea, vomiting and abdominal spain so it's best to wash them thoroughly under running water for two minutes and allow them to dry before consuming. The alfalfa sprouts are best toppings for burgers, pastas and even pizzas. It helps in enhancing the flavor and adding up some nutrients.

Happy Lemon Branches in the Philippines

Iced milk tea drinks are selling like hotcakes these days. Why? 'Cause it's scorching hot here in the country. One of the best ways to beat the summer heat is to drink something that will help cool you down a bit. It was 36 degrees celsius the other day (instant sauna sa Pilipinas). I've asked baby to come over to spend some QT with me and have refreshments at Happy Lemon Festival Mall Alabang. I went for green tea with rock salt while she had cocoa. I had mine with 25% sugar level since I'm kinda cautious of my sugar intake then I paired it with Mican's famous french fries platter when we watched the Oculus movie. Always stay hydrated, guys!

Lacoste Bag

Who doesn't love receiving birthday presents? I'm pretty sure all of us would be in euphoria when someone would remember us on our special day. Anyway, this beautiful Lacoste tote bag is from my baby. She gave this to me on my 28th birthday. It actually is my second Lacoste bag. I bought the first one at Alabang Town Center a few years back. It was way smaller compared to this one so I immediately ditched it after a month or so. The size of this bag is just perfect to carry all of my stuff. I just saw online the newest Lacoste bag designs and they all look fab especially the white Lacoste blogger bag. It's to die for!

Quiznos Branches

For the love of good food, I'd be posting another gastronomic adventure I've had just last time. This is tuna flatbread from Quiznos (photo above). It's filled with lettuces and other vegetables. I just love eating lettuce. I can eat this everyday of my life. I remember when I was on a very strict diet way back, I'd usually have caesar salad with boiled egg for dinner then some fruits on the side. Baby also had flatbread but with salami on it. The funny thing is, I almost finished her food while she was taking some of our pictures. I didn't notice that I was eating her salami 'cause I was kind of busy taking selfie pictures too. I'd definitely recommend Quiznos to family and friends.

John and Yoko Alabang Town Center

It was my first time to dine in at John and Yoko. I really didn't have the courage to try it 'cause the restaurant itself looks soshal. You know, I'm being practical these days. I don't want to splurge on things that I really don't need. Anyway, Baby came all the way from San Fernando-Pampanga just to see me. We went to Alabang Town Center so we could eat and watch a good movie afterwards. We were both first timers so obviously, it took us some time to place our orders. Since pink salmon is one of my favorites, I went for some salmon rice while baby had chicken rice. Then we ordered for Wagyu ramen (photo above) with miso based soup. The soup was well-seasoned. It was worth-trying! I asked baby to learn this dish for me since I know that she has the talent of creating any palatable dish from scratch. Afterwards, we headed to the cinema to see the Godzilla movie. I had Taters' butter flavored popcorn and Cukays' sugar-free mini cupcakes for snack.

Seriously Craving

I am seriously craving for these right now. I've been asking my baby to have our dinner at Funnside Ningnangan on Monday but she refuses to eat there. She said that I've been eating a lot of unhealthy stuff lately so we better check out other restaurants that have healthier food options for me. :( The buttered crabs with chili is my favorite! I really am not a fan of crabs but I'd make an exception to this one.

Tous Les Jours Cake

i

The photo above is the chocolate cake that I've got for my baby's birthday last January. Obviously, this is a long overdue post! Anyway, this decadent Tous Les Jours cake only costs Php 398.00. It includes some free candles and a disposable knife. I love the fact that it isn't too sweet compared to the chocolate cakes I've tried before. Baby loved it despite having a very sweet tooth. There are other beautifully designed cakes that I'd like to try on my next visit. The princess cake looks yummy! It's filled with strawberry butter cream and decorated with cookies and chocolates. My family loved it too especially my mom who's not fond of eating desserts.
