Baskin Robbins

Ice cream makes me weak on the knees. I got a cup of some ice cream at Baskin Robbins. It was definitely a scoop of joy! There were many flavors to choose from but I opted to have the classic flavor ( Very Berry Strawberry) since I have big love affair with berries.

What I love about it is that it has real strawberry bits. It's far cry from the ones I've tried before. The ante is quite pricey but definitely a bang for the buck. Thank you baby for indulging my whim! On our next visit, let's try their caramel praline cheesecake. Teehee!

Sunnies By Charlie Sunglasses With UV Protection

Summer's already here. The scorching hot weather's making me intensely narked and uncomfortable. Sometimes, I wear some sunblock and my pair of sunglasses from Sunnies by Charlie to keep me out of the sweltering heat of the sun.

This pair is definitely a perfect match with my lazy outfits. (white top and ripped jeans) It has UV protection so rest assured that your eyes are protected from the sun's harmful rays.

There are more pairs that I'd like to get from them especially the classic aviator that comes with three interchangeable lenses. It would be perfect for travelling or if you just wanted to be in style.

Stylized By Liz Uy

Liz Uy is one of the many fashion icons that I really look up to. She is a fashion editor and stylist to famous celebrity clients here in the Philippines including Kris Aquino, Georgina Wilson, Bianca Gonzalez and Julia Barretto among others. Her book, Stylized, is heaven-sent to all of us women who wanted to develop our skills in styling our everyday wardrobes.

I just love how this book gives every detail that I need when it comes to styling basic white shirts, jeans and leggings. I am into jeans as in. I hardly wear sophisticated clothes for the reason that I don't have that kutis porselanang skin. I have got stretch marks all over my body due to drastic weight loss and I'm not comfortable with it.

That's why, jeans have become a staple fashion item in my life. Usually, I'd go out just wearing a basic white tee, jeans and sandals. Sometimes, I'd add some fancy accessories to make my simple and laidback outfit kind of edgy.

Hands down to Liz Uy for writing this book. I'm sooo following her fashion tips and ideas!

Larcys Cupcakery Cafe BF Homes Paranaque

A restaurant's ambiance is a must for me that's why Larcy's Cupcakery Cafe in BF Homes captured my heart in an instant. It has a nice cozy atmosphere that made my dining experience more dreamy and indelible.

The place is quite roomy to hold guests. My sister and I sat in the corner so we could take a better view of the whole cafe.

The pasta was flavorful. I didn't expect it to be SOO delicious knowing that Larcy's specialty is dessert (cupcakes). I literally scraped my plate with fork. (eh masarap kasi talaga)

The cupcake is the highlight of our toothy merienda at Larcy's. I got the pineapple carrot cake which I devoured in less than 5 minutes. Definitely, a winner for me 'cause it isn't too sweet.

Cafe Mediterranean Alabang Town Center

I am the kind of person who likes trying out new things especially when it comes to food. Just recently, Baby and I went for a quick lunch at Cafe Mediterranean in Alabang Town Center. Obviously, this restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes. I have strong liking in the food we have ordered, Gyro Platter.

Gyro Platter is good for two people. We went for regular pita instead of rice for a change. It is made up of strips of beef, tuna and chicken, Falafel and strips on grilled zucchini and eggplant and is served with Tzatziki and Shepherd's salad. The meat has great flavor and taste especially when dipped into their special sauces. My mouth was partying the entire time because of the succulent and flavorful food I devoured.

The Penthouse BF Homes Paranaque

Great news, Southerners! A new shopping hub (The Penthouse) in BF Homes Paranaque has finally opened its doors to cater to all your shopping needs. I have learned about it when two of my favorite shops online announced that they'd be having a branch in the south.

I asked my little sister to come with me for a little shopping spree two Sundays ago. We didn't have a hard time finding the Penthouse's exact location as I have downloaded the map on my mobile phone beforehand. It's located at 162 Chloe Building in Aguirre Avenue (near Larcy's Cupcakery Cafe).

The Penthouse is heaven-sent for us shopaholics. They have gathered some of the best online shops in instragram to make shopping more fun and frolic.

The first thing I checked out was the Flattering Tops (@flatteringtops) as they have a variety of free size tops (small-xl) for a very affordable ante. If you want to spruce up your ho-hum closet, GeliVanelli Couture (@gelivanelli) has some real nice pieces for you.

Apple iPhone 6

Many thanks to my dad for granting my Birthday slash Christmas wish--- Apple iPhone 6. He was supposed to come home last Christmas but his immediate superior didn't allow him to leave the office even for a short two-week vacay. That's how demanding he is at work.

It was no surprise that my dad got me the iPhone 6 in gold knowing that he loves gold jewelries himself. (pun intended) My previous phone (iPhone 5s) which was a Christmas gift from a relative two years ago came in gold color too.

Obviously, iPhone 6 has bigger screen compared to iPhone 5s-- Now, I'm more hooked into my favorite online game, Clash of Clans. The camera is A-OK. Even if my hands get a little bit shaky in snagging a picture, the result's still pretty decent.

Battery life is just average. With continuous internet usage, it only can last for two good hours. But if you aren't a heavy mobile phone user (meaning, text lang and konting calls), the battery lasts for a day.

Lunch at Island Cove Resort

Going to a short out-of-trip has become the yearly tradition of the family everytime my dad comes home for a 3-week vacation. Island Cove Resort is my dad's favorite location 'cause it's just an hour away from home. He also loves the peaceful scenery and impressive Pinoy food in Island Cove Resort.

Three days before my dad left for abroad, he drove us to his favorite location for a yummy Pinoy lunch/merienda. Crispy pata is one of the many viands we've had for lunch.

Crispy Pata (good for 3-4 people)

I personally loved the binagoongang baboy. It was cooked the way I liked it. I also loved the dessert platter we have had afterwards.

There was an event (Exodus Music and Arts Festival) that day so the resort was a bit crowded. Different bands (local and international), from various music genres, performed to entertain the resort guests and concertgoers.

K-Palette Eye Makeup Goodies

K-Palette? It's heaven-sent for all of us girls who can never leave the house without wearing makeup. My brows have been my problem ever since and I'd never get tired of ranting about it. (Kasi nakakainis talaga) I have tried numerous eyebrow makeup products but NONE of them passed my standards. (feeling makeup guru, pagbigyan na)

Discovering K-Palette was one of the best days of my life. I was literally jumping in joy when I purchased my first ever K-Palette eyebrow liner. When I got home, I tried it out right away and caught myself smiling the whole time while applying this impeccable eyebrow liner. Sometimes I couldn't believe that I'm actually wearing one 'cause it does a great job in mimicking my eyebrow hair.

My K-Palette eyebrow liner pen's almost empty after a few months of using it, so I went to Beauty Bar-Alabang Town Center the other day to snag some K-Palette eye make up goodies. I got the 2way eyebrow pencil instead of the eyebrow liner, for a change. And the rave reviews online is also the deciding factor in buying it.

Another MUST HAVE in every makeup kit would be the real lasting eyeliner. I didn't blow off the chance of acquiring this holy grail make up product 'cause I was greatly inspired by my favorite local MUA. She can create a perfect winged eyeliner in a jiffy. A true artist, indeed!

Just like what I did with my eyebrow liner, I tried it out right away and also caught myself smiling the whole time while applying it to my kaawa-awang eyebrows. The 2way eyebrow pencil obviously has two sides (pencil and powder). I used the pencil tip to draw my eyebrows, then I applied the powder tip to fill in gaps and to achieve a softer look. It has a stronger color opacity-- perfect for those who have lesser eyebrow hairs like me. Thank you K-Palette for making our eyebrow game stronger than ever!

Now let's move on to the real lasting eyeliner. Eyeliners aren't new to me but it's always been a struggle for me to create that seamless eyeliner makeup. It's tricky and quite hard to achieve especially with liquid eyeliners. But with K-Palette's real lasting eyeliner, I instantly felt like a pro.

The real lasting Micro eyeliner has an impressive .05mm micro thin brush. I personally recommend this for beginners who wanted to score a beautiful eyeliner makeup effortlessly. Never understimate the tenuity of its brush 'cause in every flick you'd always get that consistent super black color. (See sample below).

Pros (2way Eyebrow Pencil)
- Stronger color opacity
- Long lasting
- Easy to apply
- Nice packaging
- Can be removed with soap and water (No makeup remover needed)

Cons (2way Eyebrow Pencil)
- Quite pricey

Pros (Real Lasting Eyeliner)
- Strong color
- Long lasting
- Easy to apply
- Nice packaging
Can be removed with soap and water (No makeup remover needed)
- Perfect for beginners

Cons (Real Lasting Eyeliner)
- Quite Pricey

Forever 21 Sandals

Good shoes take you to good places. I got this beautiful pair of sandals from Forever 21. I have been lusting for this pair for quite a long time now and I'm very lucky to get the last pair for this style. (sa size ko pa) It really is meant for me.

It is my first ever pair of Forever 21 sandals 'cause I'd normally just get clothing pieces and fancy accessories from them. NO regrets in getting these sandals even if it comes with a hefty price tag. It is snug and it really goes well with my everyday outfits. This pair would be overused for sure.

The white one looks gorg too but I'm thinking of getting another style or from another brand. The last time I checked SM department store, I saw a lot of pretty pairs of white sandals from Parisian. (In fairness, pwedeng pantapat sa mamahaling brand)

Size Matters Alabang Town Center

Hungarian sausage from Size Matters, Alabang Town Center is what I've munched on during the movie, Kingsman: the Secret Service at Alabang Town Center. The movie was awesome. It was action-packed and the characters played their roles very well.

Baby and I enjoyed the movie even more because of the delish snacks we've devoured. Baby got herself the all-beef burger while I went for the hungarian sausage sandwich. The taste of the hungarian sausage sandwich wasn't that spectacular but I really liked the bread they've used. It has some butter on it which made it a lot tastier and more delightful to eat.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to taste my baby's all-beef burger. But she's said it really did make her palate extremely happy.

S and R Festival Supermall

Pizza is my ultimate comfort food. I'm just glad that my favorite pizza place, S&R has opened a branch in Festival Supermall. No need to have a S&R Membership card for you to purchase. Hooray for that!

The combo flavor has always been my top choice. It's packed with meat and veggie toppings which makes this pizza flavor my instant favorite. I have tried cheese and pepperoni too but I'd still go with my first love. They also have bacon cheeseburger flavor that I'd like to try on my next visit.

S&R is also selling calzone, chicken, churros, french fries and salad. They are all tempting and sometimes I couldn't help but salivate. But I need to curb my food cravings. I gained a little weight and I really am having a hard time getting rid of the belly fats. So probably, my next visit to S&R would be on my Mom's birthday. That is two months from now. Teehee!

K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer

Dark circles under my eyes have been my problem ever since I started going to college. I took up a pre-medicine course which requires a lot of laboratory assignments and projects. I have had irregular sleeping patterns during those times and sleep was never part of my dictionary.

To cut to the chase, my dark circles got worse. I have had to apply heavy amounts of concealer under my eyes. It was slightly irritating and uncomfortable on my part.

I'm just glad that I've finally found the right brand of concealer for my panda eyes, K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer. It really pays to have an Instagram account 'cause you can find there almost anything and everything you've been looking for.

I have discovered K-Palette through a local celebrity that I've been stalking (not following) on Instagram. haha! She endorses almost all of K-Palette products. Her favorites are the Real Lasting Eyebrow (which I also have), Real Lasting Eyeliner and Zero Kuma Concealer.

I got sooo intrigued with the Zero Kuma Concealer 'cause everyone's been raving about it, including the local celebrity that I've been stalking. (I'm just pulling your leg). Haha! I bought shade # 2 'cause it was highly recommended by the SA in Beauty Bar. She's told me that it's the best shade for those who have fair skin.

Zero Kuma Concealer costs P795, a bit expensive from other concealer brands out there, but it's a holygrail makeup product that it's worth every penny. A little amount of this concealer goes a long, long way! It does help in concealing my serious dark underye problem and I have noticed a certain glow when I applied it on my face to cover some dark spots.

Plus, it really does stay on my oily face for hours with my favorite face powder. It does not cake unlike the concealers I have tried back in the day. I'd be posting a photo of myself wearing this amazing beauty product, hopefully on my next blog entry. Till next!

Market Basket Riverpark Festival Supermall

It was late Sunday afternoon when we went out for a family dinner. My mom who adores Pinoy food so much, chose Market Basket, which is located at the Riverpark in Festival Supermall Alabang. According to my research, Market Basket is owned by Hilario "Larry" Cortez of the Chef's Quarter Group. Would you believe  that this restaurant genius was a former security guard? He also owns Bossings, Chef Barrel, Kuse and Uncle Cheffy.

Not only that, the co-owner, Chef Mauro Arjona Jr. was a former dishwasher in a restaurant where Hilario Cortez also worked. Isn't it amazing? Their hardwork really paid off!  Anyway, Market Basket is like a modern dampa. If you are familiar with it or seafood paluto then you may already know what it is. But since my mom isn't the adventurous type, we just let the restaurant staff handle everything.

It was definitely a feast. We've had fried calamares, pork sisig, chopsuey, grilled tanigue and sinigang na salmon belly (not on the photo). Their pork sisig is one of the best I've ever tasted. I'm really not a pro in describing my gastronomic adventures but my Market Basket experience was truly splendid!

Tune Hotel Angeles Pampanga

Tune Hotel in Angeles City Pampanga is probably one of the best hotels I've ever been to. The front desk officer was very professional. All our queries were addressed in a timely manner. I love the hotel's lobby. You can just lounge on the sofa or use their computers for surfing the internet.

The front desk officer handed us our key card which, by the way, has many uses. You can't just use the lift if you don't have a key card. It is also used in opening the door of your hotel room.

Our hotel room was definitely a love at first sight. It may not be spacious just like the other hotel rooms I've been to but I didn't mind at all. I was in awe with the rooms's cleanliness and fresh smelling scent. These two are very important factors in passing my expectations and it actually did! Snuggling with my baby in our soft mattress and pillows absolutely was the best part after a long tiring day.

Pros:
Nice hotel lobby
Soft pillows and mattress
Fast Wi-fi internet connection
Professional front desk officers
Clean and fresh smelling rooms
Flat screen television with cable
Blowdryer (a must for me and baby)
Accessible to SM Clark, restaurants and other establishments

Cons:
Telephone is installed outside the room (near the elevator)

Dinosaur's Island

Our tour to Clark Pampanga for the 19th Philippine International Hot Airballoon Festival also included a side trip to Dinosaur's Island. The entrance fee to Dinosaur's Island is sold for P20. Of course, you need to pay additional charges to see the other sights.

But since the door going to the park was literally open (As in walang nagbabantay sa entrance door compared sa jungle safari and 7D), we assumed it's free for everyone (Mahirap talagang maging assuming). Anyway, we explored the whole park and I suddenly recalled my favorite childhood movie "Jurassic Park." Humongous dinousaur replicas were all over the area. The sound of a real dinosaur was mimicked for a more realistic Jurrasic experience (In fairness natuwa naman ako)

When we were about to leave the premises, someone approached us asking for our entrance tickets. I told her no one's assigned in the entrance door when we got in so we assumed that it's free of charge. Her rude attitude really got me teed off. It's hard to keep my cool when I'm enraged (As in!). If we only knew that we've had to pay P350/ea for the entrance tickets, we certainly won't go. But I've had fun. Everything was A-OK except for that rude staff who made me downright mad.

19th Hot Air Balloon Festival Clark Pampanga

Another item checked off of my bucketlist: Attending the Philippines International Hot Air Balloon festival in Clark Pampanga. We checked in 1 day before the main event in a hotel just across SM Clark. The hotel (Tune Hotel) we stayed in was really nice and neat. The room size was pretty small but I didn't mind at all. I am 101% happy and satisfied with the neatness and fresh smelling scent of our hotel room. The a/c was a downside though but good thing there's a ceiling fan to help with the ventilation.

Baby brought some baon for our late lunch, a delicious Pinoy food (Bagoong with calamansi and sili and Daing na bangus), that I can eat every single day of my life. Haha!  We went out to take a short tour to Clark Airbase for some photo ops right after opening our Valentines gift for each other (Naks, haha!) Then for dinner, we've had steak with rice at Meats and Match. We came back to our hotel room around 9 in the evening, just in time for our favorite teleserye on ABS-CBN. Haha!

We slept kind of late but I managed to wake up around 2 in the morning. Actually, I woke up with an upset stomach. I thought I won't make it to the festival but the power of prayers helped me get through it. We freshened up a bit, put our clothes on then left. We stopped by at 7-11 for some cup noodles and coffee to keep us going. We arrived in the area (Air Force City) 3:30 A.M.

Tickets were sold for P300. I was supposed to buy the tickets online but my Paypal account doesn't have sufficient funds. Anyway, the organizers started to sell tickets around 4:15. I can barely remember the exact time the program has started but the first activity was the RC UFO Flying. Then it was followed by Skydiving Philippine Flag Jump and the Hare and Hound Hot Air Balloon flights. The Hare and Hound Hot Air Balloon flights was definitely my most favorite part of the program. If my memory serves me right, there were 36 participants (30 international hot air balloons and 6 local hot air balloons).

The red octopus from Japan was a love at first sight. The color's fun and eye-catching. Also, the face and shoe-shaped balloon (not on the photo). Unfortunately, the sunflower didn't make it. I don't know exactly what happened but I saw some black smoke coming from it. Glad to know, no one's hurt from the incident. Anyway, right after the Hare and Hound Hot Air Balloon flights, we headed to the aviation area where we saw some legit private planes ready for picture-taking purposes.

I was already feeling tired and sluggish due to lack of sleep so baby and I have decided to take a break and recharge ourselves with food and cold refreshments. We went home around 9:30 A.M so we could still have an hour to prepare for our next adventure. I really had a great time at the 19th Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark Pampanga. It warrants another visit from me next year!

Cafe Mary Grace

Baby and I are just mad about Italian cuisine especially pasta and pizza. It's the foremost reason why we have become frequent customers of Cafe Mary Grace in Alabang Town Center. There is so much to adore about this restaurant that's why we fell in love with it at the drop of a hat.

Cafe Mary Grace's ambiance is quite cozy. I sure do like the handwritten notes from the very pleased customers on top of the dining tables of Cafe Mary Grace. It's very entertaining to read those sweet messages saying how happy they were with the excellent food and service and other high praises for this restaurant.

... And I couldn't agree more... Cafe Mary Grace is definitely the best place to go to for nice ambiance and first-rate food and service. The Pasta Amatriciana with meatballs is my baby's favorite. She usually gets the meal which includes some salad and dessert.

'Cause I was kind of stuffed from all the food we've had that day, I just went for some sandwich (Chicken Inasal) with potato chips and dip (Wow, kunyare diet). It was surprisingly good! It may just look an ordinary sandwich but looks can be deceiving, right? My mouth was in euphoria after finishing everything on my pretty plate.

I shall try their famous food combo (ensaymada and tsokolate) on my next visit.

Filipino Streetfood

Filipino streetfood at its finest! My baby's 34th birthday was definitely a day full of adventures. Right after our short getaway to Poracay Resort in Porac-Pampanga, we went to Capampangan Island in the City of San Fernando for a simple birthday dinner celebration. I was tickled pink when I saw one table at the corner filled with Filipino or "Pinoy" streetfood. Isaw is my all-time favorite! I can finish 10 sticks of isaw in just one sitting. The other two tables were loaded with scrumptious Filipino viands, of course, cooked in Kapampangan way.

As you may already know, Pampanga is the culinary capital of the Philippines. They have the best cooks in the country! Their food is always festive and full of flavors. I'd like to have some of their famous exotic food on my next visit, kamaru (crickets) or betute tugak (stuffed frog).

Poracay Resort

Poracay Resort is where we went to for my baby's 34th birthday. Since baby can't take a leave off work, we just went to a resort near her place. Porac is just an hour away from the City of San Fernando. We took the Gapan-Olangapo route going to Porac interchange and it was no surprise when we approached the road going to Poracay Resort became extremely rough. As you may already know, Porac was one of the many municipalities in Pampanga greatly devastated by ashfall and lahar from Mt. Pinatubo eruption. The Mt. Pinatubo eruption left tons of sand deposits. The sand deposits became the boundless natural resource of the people of Porac and the symbol to the town's resiliency toward tragedy. Actually, Filipinos are known for being resilient individuals. (Marunong tayong bumangon sa kahit anong trahedya, with a smile pa yan ha!)

Anyway, we got there around 4:00 in the afternoon. As expected, the resort wasn't jam-packed since it was weekday. Before plunging into the pool, we roamed around to check the entire resort. They have kayak and fishing, zipline ride and other fun and exciting activities that you can do with your family and friends. Swimming pools are everywhere. Just make sure to always keep an eye on your little ones though there are lifeguards on duty in the area. It's always better to be safe than sorry! Overall, I liked the place except from the bumpy road we have had to take going there.

Pinkberry Alabang Town Center

My baby and I just discovered a new place to satiate our fro-yo (frozen yoghurt) cravings, Pinkberry. Pinkberry is located at Corte De Las Palmas in Alabang Town Center. We both just love eating frozen yoghurt and it was the main reason why we gave in. The place is pretty small but it definitely gives out a clean and youthful vibe.

We went for the small-sized plain yoghurt (Php 110) 'cause the small-sized cup with toppings costs Php 165( Wala ng budget eh, haha!). It was good but kind of sweet for my taste buds though. But I'm planning to go back with my baby real soon. We'd love to try the other yoghurt flavors and perhaps some smoothies too to beat the scorching hot weather.
